Hey all I drive a 89 Cressida. 7mge w58 3.9lsd.
The car use to be auto and I converted it to 5speed. Car has a new OEM clutch. The car is really jerky when changing gears or just letting on and off the gas pedal. And I'm pretty sure it's not my driving as most other manual cars I drive seem to be pretty smooth. This is during normal driving I'm talking about shifting around 3000rpm.
The driveshaft hanger/center/carrier bearing has about an inch of play. Meaning I can grab the driveshaft and move it around about an inch in all directions. Play looks to be in the rubber. Bearing isn't noisy though. Could this cause a jerky shift if the driveshaft has play in the center bearing?
