Driver door lock messed up

ok so my driver door lock is messed up, if i unlock it from driver side the alarm goes off. so im forced to unlock it from the passenger side. any ideas?

are you turning the key to the right or left ? I think if you turn it to the other way, I alarm arms so hence the alarm when opened ?

i turn it to the right to unlock the door and it sets off the alarm

that weird, I know i know back then if i turn it to the left it armed the alarm...



just do what I did and shave the door handles. then you'll be fine

Sounds like the slipring is worn out. I say buy a new lock for the driver's side, and get it rekeyed to your key.

They're like $35 from Toyota I think.

I have the same problem only its every now and then. Sometimes it goes off, sometimes not. When it first happened to me if i turned the key a few more times, it would turn off the alarm. Now I too must go to passenger side.
