I'd imagine that it would be subject to the same laws that govern our other favorite radial friction-makers, the brakes; which leads me to believe that the slotting might be beneficial. But crossdrilled is never a good idea, from what I understand...wears out friction surfaces in a heartbeat and can build up some serious heat if one were to use the wrong friction material for the clutch face.
Hmmm... Thought Evolution Industries held a patent on slotted flywheels.
Also, that's slotted and dimpled, not crossdrilled. That flywheel has been around for a while (just wasn't slotted/dimpled), and previously was advertised as SFI approved (though we doubted it was on the forums).
