I will taking out my turbo, do i have to drain my oil to do so? Or does the oil just sit on the bottom of the oil pan and i wouldn't have to worry about it spilling all over when i remove the turbo and the oil lines on it.
when you reinstall the turbo pour some oil into the turbo's center housing (where the oil lines go into the turbo) and give the shaft a bit of a spin just to help keep things safe on first startup then finish installing the turbo.
it also wouldnt hurt to pull the EFI fuse and crank until you get a bit of oil pressure, and then put the efi back and start, just to further prevent the bearing/seals in the turbo from going apeshit
oh yeah, and for god sakes dont forget the gasket for the turbo > manifold. I did that and i just realized it after wondering why im not spooling until 4.5k lol. Now i gotta pull it all off to fix it
