Well im looking at buying a downpipe but was wondering how big is the diameter of the exhaust manifold outlet? There are 2 downpipes im looking at but one has a 2 1/4" inlet and the other a 2 1/2" inlet, does that really matter?

The downpipe does not attach to the exhaust manifold. It attaches to the elbow. Unless you have an aftermarket setup, like a V-band or something.

Um, I think you may be looking at the wrong down pipes... Unless it's an ebay down pipe where it bolts up the the stock turbo elbow being 2.5", then after the flex section it goes to 3". The best bet on a down pipe for your car would be one with an integrated elbow on it and being full 3" or bigger. Cooleeze makes them, BIC (vendor section on here) makes a few different designs, and you can also find other brands with integrated elbows on them at sites like horsepowerfreaks.com, suprasport.com (custom turbo elbows), 935motorsports.com, suprastore.com, etc. There are many different types out there, it all depends on how much you want to spend for a specific type and what flavor of DP you like
