So I picked up a 89 turbo targa shell for a few bucks and noticed the doors didn't close. the latch is in the open position, but it seems like when you push the door in, it won't turn over to lock on to the loop thing on the door jamb. the latch itself moves loose, so it isn't stuck, the only thing i can think of is that something in the latch itself is damaged, and stops it from going to the closed position.
before I rip apart the doors from my other car, is there anything I could try? I've tried hooking up the battery, and checking the lock button, but all I hear is a dull thud and knock when I press it, instead of the usual sound.
