1992 Toyota Supra Mark III 3.0L I6 Turbo Automatic, $13,995.00 with 71,778 Act. Low miles, (Yes you read right, 3,550 miles per year.) There were only 1,193 American imported models made. Compare this to the 108,565 or all years of the Mark III from1986 to 1992 made for America, this is one RARE car! Then consider it's options, condition and mechanical status. This is the top of all sports cars Toyota was building in 1992. 1 Owner, bought new in Colorado, Every Option that the American model came with. When owner passed away it was transferred to his spouse who garaged it until her death. The husband and wife who owned this bought it new in their 60's and owned it into their 80's. This car is perfect in every way, it has never been altered, wrecked and the paint, body, glass and interior is pristine. Because of age we have rebuilt the engine which includes: New pistons, push rods, bearings, gaskets and seals, including head gasket, milled head, honed pistons, new spark plugs, wires, antifreeze, oil. All work is documented and done by a Colorado Master ASE Engine Rebuilder. Transmission has been positively flushed and treated. Tires have been balanced and aligned. Seems to be the going rate, a dealership has a red 92 sunroof with 80k on the showroom floor for $12,XXX locally.

Funny thing is I stopped in on a Friday, normal clothes (t-shirt and jeans) salesman caught me looking, we made small talk and I mentioned a test drive. Then he got on about well would I be financing and we would need to get me pre approved first and on and on. I kindly thanked him and left. The next week I stopped in on my way home from work (nicer dressed) and while driving my 89. I parked right in front of the showroom and by the time I was through the front door he was letting me test drive it :D. After a nice luxurious back road cruise that I know we both enjoyed we were back and he asked if I was interested and would be financing ect. I said I would have paid cash and it is a pristine car but they were asking too much, shook his hand and walked out. Besides I don't have the garage space and if I was going to buy a mint 92 I wouldn't drop the coin on 3E5 (sorry 3E5 guys).

Sorry for the rant but that story always amused me. Almost as good as when I went to look at a Celica at one dealership and left with a supra from another.

Funny story behind that car. When I had my 89, probably 6 years ago or so, I left a note under the wiper of a flawless 91, asking them to call me if they ever sold it. Well... about a year ago I got a phone call from them :) The older couple owned it from day one, they bought it brand new. I was still in a temporary position at my job and told them I'd be back when I was hired on permanently. They sold it not three weeks before I was made permanent :\ I did drive it and check it over... really amazing shape.

The people they sold it to subsequently sold it to the dealership. Original owners sold it for $6800 and the people sold it to the dealer for $7,200, IIRC. (Original owners called me back up to say the people who bought it from them were selling it if I was still interested.) Original owners were very nice folks.

I bought a 92 Teal last summer. Just finished replacing a lot of hoses and gaskets Tuesday. I have a Raptor Racing DDP and Tanabe cat back I'm putting on this evening. It's bone stock except intake and the exhaust.

Targa. I'd never buy a Supra without a targa :) It's going to stay this way for a long time. It's an auto so I'm on the prowl for an R154, preferably out of a donor car so everything's there. Other than that, suspension and wheels, and a new radiator it'll stay how it is.

I moved up to 5 mile so not too far away. Shoot me a text sometime if you still have my number and you can swing by.
