I'm looking at a MKIII to buy.Supposely it ran fine and then overheated because owner didn't pay attention to gagues.Car won't start and compression is really low.Owner thinks its a BHG and the water pump is out. Would the car not start because of these problems?
Thanks

Well even if the waterpump is shot the car would start. However, really low compression will stop the car from starting. You'd be able to tell because the car will crank faster with low compression. Also, if he managed to hydrolock a cylindar from filling it with coolant that would definitely stop it from starting.

if he overheated it then you might have more issues than just bad hg. but i would deff check for the coolant in the oil like IJ said. you could always try sprayin a lil bit of "magic" in there! :naughty: (ether)

that would tell ya if your ignition is working right. if your getting a spark or not. it would either fire or turn over faster. not gonnta hurt anything. just DONT spray alot in there at first.
