Does the heater core affect AC as well?

If it does, I may need to replace the damned thing, and I've heard about how daunting a task it is :icon_conf

Anyway, I doubt it's the cooling system, as it was flushed and everything when I had the engine swap done last month. Vents aren't clogged either so there's not much else. I absolutely must have AC as California is starting to get in the upper 90's.

If it were leaking, it would affect the A/C, in that it would make the inside of your car fog up even with the A/C on. This would be easy to fix, though, just take the two heater supply hoses off the back of your engine and bypass the cabin interior entirely. As long as you don't mind losing the heater capability, this would fix any problems it might have.

Hmm well, both my AC and heater don't work. The vents blow, but it's just blowing air. Neither have worked since before the engine swap, so I'm not really sure what else is causing it, heh.

As for the heater hoses, are you talking about the ones around the heater vsv?

In the engine bay, on the passenger side of the firewall, a coolant hose goes to a big switch that can turn the flow of coolant into the cabin on and off. If you set your temp control to full cold, it should move a little piston - check that. If it doesn't move, try forcing it by hand with the heater on full hot, see if you get heat. That little wretch is the likely cause of your heater not working.

A/C is more complicated. If you are really lucky, it'll be a fuse, or the wiring to your compressor. If you're not so lucky, you'll be out of refrigerant, and need an upgrade to R134a and a leak that allowed the original R12 to leak out fixed.
