Do I have to remove the crank pulley?

I am going to swap over to a 2JZ water pump on my 1jz.It would be nice to get it all done in one sitting. I don't like getting 1/2 done and realize I need something else to finish.

I know the timing belt and tensioner have to come off. Is it possible to leave the crank pulley on? I don't have access to a puller...

Any other little things I might want to know about?

Yes because you need to remove the timing cover and you should just change the belt if you have it that tore down. Just goto autozone or something like that and you can rent one and get you deposit back after you return it.

When I changed over to the 2jz waterpump I had to take the crank pulley off but I just massaged it off with a big screwdriver and ti worked fine for me.

I've heard of people putting the breaker bar on the car and using the starter to break it loose. Just disconnect the coils and injectors if you try that and have the bar on the ground already

that works fine, just make sure you have it set up right first!! i'm sure you don't want a breaker bar flipping around the wrong way and stopping when it finds something to destroy, just because you didn't think enough about the rotation of the crank...i've heard of it happening, and its not pretty most times!

that being said, you wont hurt anything if you do it right...just a bump or two of the ignition is all it will take.
