I was checking out 935 and they have a weld up yourself exhaust for 200 for cat-back stainless

has anyone bought this? would it be cheaper just to buy bends? this looks really easy to do because its already all the right lengths

werd, i had bought this and put it on my car just a week ago. i like it. i bought it over the cooleze pipes because i didnt like the routing of the cooleze(how it goes down under the axel and then back up, as opposed to straight under the axel). dont hang low or anything like that. just take it to more than one shop and get them to look at it and give you a quote before you let them do any work. then may try to pull some shit like "we didnt know we needed to weld the pipes together, we need more money". there are 3 write ups in the review section on this including mine, one even has pics.

oh sweet ill have to check it out... i was in fact just going to weld it myself

*edit duh i should have checked out the reviews section i forget its there sometimes... but yea this looks like a steal that looks alot easier to weld up then the exhaust i did for my accord

I have another question though.. i am not real familiar with the different types of metal... i have only welded up steel... on a mig welder do i need different wire to weld up ss? im assuming yes that way the weld dosent rust?

Build it yourself, just go buy some pipe and ged 2 mandrel bends and a muffler, I built mine in a few hours and it sounds awsome. just 2 bends, one before the axle and one after.

would 4 feet of straight be enough or will i need like 8 feet? i was looking at jegs.com and for a 4' section is 50 bucks and a 180 degree bend for 50 or so

this comes to 100 bucks not including shipping... if so then this will be 100 bucks less but do i need more than 4 feet than it will be another 50 bucks and wont include any mounting brackets or hangers....

Buying bends would certainly be cheaper.

You would spend about $125-150 on the stainless bends, but then you would have to cut them in pieces, tack cut tack cut, etc. In the end you are left with a bunch of welds.

By getting the mandrel bent tubing kit, you are only welding the flanges on and making 1 or 2 cuts. The end result is less of your time wasted and a cleaner look. It's certainly worth the extra few bucks, especially if you want to replace the cat since the DIY piping will replace the cat.

Here is the DIY kit that I installed for my car, and look at the lack of welds. It really will set you apart:

I am a cheap ass.... I completly made my own exhaust, but had I known about this, I would have done it instead.

I actually have a different way of doing bends. I own a really good chop saw, so to do a 45 bend, I actually cut two 22 degree sections, and then weld it all up. It works pretty good.

Now before someone bitches about how that won't flow, we tested a bend in the same size for a mandrel, a crush and this on a flow bench. This flows just slightly less than a mandrel, and much more than a crush bend.

So yeah, I spent 38.22 on my entire exhaust, but I still don't have a muffler.
