i am fairly new to this concept with the ddp .the pipe for the waste gate just remains open? i have no idea. im looking to get one but i dont know much about them and would this be better than a regular down pipe like a tanabe or hks thanks guys im guessing it would probably be louder i saw one where the wastegate pipe reconnects to the downpipe would this be any good

Instead of the two separate gas streams having to share a pipe, they each have their own. It is louder but only during boost when the wastegate opens. The exhaust stream from the turbo is routed like a normal dp, while the wastegate stream gets dumped to the ground. If you get the version where the two streams are combined later it will be the same noise level as any other aftermarket DP.

Yup, the wastegate gases vent to the atmosphere, making it very very loud at full boost. (but sounds amazing). IIRC Bishop did a test and the BIC DDP showed a 28 horsepower gain OVER the HKS downpipe. And you can get on were the wastegate gases re-route into the exhaust gases!

I didn't perform the test, I believe that was the man BIC himself. I did notice a difference in power switching from the RT 3" to the BIC DDP, but I never dyno'd before and after.

had anyone done a dyno test between the normal DDP and the rerouted DDP? I'd like to see how much hp you lose by rerouting the ddp.

AFAIK Horsepower losses were minimal when going from true DDP to a rerouted DDP. The deal is since the wastegate gases are reintroduced lower in the exhaust stream where the exhaust is better organized rather than the turbulent elbow area. Therefore, less turbulence = less backpressure = more horsepower.

does anyone know the gains from the BIC DP and the BIC DDP? i would like to see those numbers and see if its really worth the extra $$$$$

Heh, If you don't want super loud, you will want an arguing downpipe. ;);)
They split up, but eventually get back together all the way 'til the end. :D

The sound of wastegate dump (DDP) is truly one of a kind. Unmistakeable for ANYTHING else and if you're not aware of or nor prepared for it, it'll scare the shit out of you. It sounds like a monster...literally. Really deep and heavy "ROOOOOOOOAAAAR". Good stuff. :)
