Difference Between N/A and turbo?

whats the difference between the N/A pistons and the turob besides the comp.? nothing i would think considering how similar the engines are.

I'm not sure but I would think the top land of the turbo piston will be thicker than the N/A due to it working in a much more hostile enviroment.

this may be slightly off topic, but when doing a rebuild on an NA would it not be beneficial to remove that center ring and the arrow on the top of the piston? to me that looks like an obvious hot spot which coualad cause detonation aswell as something for carbon to catch on.

any thoughts?

Arrow is to point towards front of engine for installion, I don't think it would make much of a difference at all.
