What is the difference between these 2 turbos? I am trying to buy a 60 trim but I understand that the 60-1 is VERY unreliable so i was wondering if anyone had any experience with the 60 trim and whether or not it is reliable. Thanks

Size is the difference the 60-1 flows more

And imo i think a well built 60-1 will last you as long as a 60.

Reason people have problems is the wheel is to big for the shaft to my inderstanding.

But if it was a good build then with a good bov and proper care i think you wont see issues

i bet! im on a stock ct26 on 9psi. so instead of tuning it to 13-14psi i want to get a bigger one. Im just trying to find a used 57 or 60 trim for under 400 and then tune it to 17-18 psi

Hmm just fork out another 100 and have Albert build you a brand new one...

Im not sayong the 60 is more reliable i will say the 57 has a better track record ...

I have a 60-1 and i beat the ever leaving hello out kf it still going strong

People are misinformed. The shaft is too "small" but based on what? Garrett's shaft that the turbo sits on is smaller than a ct-26. So it has nothing to do with that.

They are unreliable IMO because you're putting a bigger wheel up front than stock, more weight= more momentum, so when your shitty ass BOV doesn't work properly, causing compressor surging, the wheel spins back an forth violently putting stress on the shaft and possibly snapping the shaft.

What's funny is I've seen numerous of Garrett 60-1 shafts snap as well due to the same issue.

Garrett uses the same shaft (p-trim) for their tiny 57trim turbo wheels, and 60-1, 62mm, 67mm, 70mm wheels, and the p-trim stays the same. So this "shaft is too tiny" nonsense is retarded.

If your gonna upgrade a turbo get a good BOV an get the exhaust clipped IMO.

I've sold 20+ 60-1 ct26 upgrades, not a single one has come back. But every single one of my customers listened to me.

Is it only the cold side of the turbo that makes them different or has both sides been modded.

What's the Inducer / Exducer of the two turbos.

Huge mismatch between Turbine and Compressor = Surge Monster, as Albert said most people have the PoS stock bypass valve, T04Z is a good example of a Surge Monster you need to run a very active BoV...

Your question is confusing. .ar has nothing to do with a wheel.

Can you clarify?

Sorry about the confusion. I guess I am confused as well. An example is when I see 57 trim ct26 like on drift motion with an option for a .58, .70 Turbo Housing. I was asking what size .AR are normally on these turbos. What's the turbo volume efficiency on these turbos? Max 18-20lb boost?

Can you elaborate when you say a very active BOV? What would be a good BOV for this? HKS?
