Ok, the driver side seal on the side of the Diff is leaking. I'm thinking just replace both sides since I'm there. Should I replace the Pinion seal also? It's not showing any signs of leaking. I plan on putting in some Redline Heavy shock Gear lube like I have in my 4runner's Axles. If I should replace the pinion seal, doesn't it have a crush sleeve on the pinion, so what do I torque the pinion nut down to? Also, what about the gasket for the inspection cover?

Stupid Q, but do I have to remove the diff and tear it apart to replace those side seals?

Right now the Diff is the worst part of this car. If adding the LSD additive doesn't make the noise go away, I'm gonna have to pull it and rebuild it. New seals, bearings and maybe a Detroit Trac gimic. Wonder WTF is making this noise in that diff.

What were the Gear ratios for the mk3 auto turbos? where can I find what gears i have in mine? the build tag? B/c If it needs rebuilt I'll have to go to the junk yard and pull one and build it, then swap them out on a weekend. bc that car can't be down, it's her DD. but I heard the NA diffs are non LSD, but does that matter if we put a Detroit in it?

Mine made noise for long time.. checked the fluid.. I found shavings.. the pinion bearing was shot I guess.. I ended up buying a used diff from one who was parting his car.. now, no noise.. smooth ride..
