So I got my Fidanza cam gears for my motor today and a guy at my shop told me all about having to degree my camshafts when installing the cam gears. I will say that he DOES know his shit, he's built many a race car.

I'm running stock GTE cams which are already in the head, since they havent been removed is it a good idea to degree the cams after I install the adjustable gears, and if so is there a thread on here that will tell me what the stock cams should be degreed too?? (you dont need to link said thread just let me know its here SOMEWHERE, so far my search hasnt turned up anything)

Thanks for any input.

I have never degreed stock cams, not that it shouldn't be done,
but I just jumped right to bigger cams as soon as I started looking for more performance.

On longer duration cams I have found that having the lobe centers between 112-114 degrees gave a flatter power band,
with a little less peak, but better spread on power.

But the only way your going to find what's best for you, is to do as IJ suggests, dyno time.
When you go there, be prepared.
Have the correst tools handy, and practice doing it before you go.
Dyno time is not cheap, and the more you plan ahead, the more pulls you can get done in a set period.
