This gasket went on the car about 4 months ago. It's a Turbonetics T4 turbine housing flange aluminum gasket. I've heard your not supposed to use aluminum gaskets for your t4 gasket, but this was lying around when my turbo was off and I decided to find out for myself. Well I've been dealing with the exhaust leak and the gasket slowly blowing out for some time now and finally changed it out today. It slid right out, I did not bend it at all.
Question is why would they even make this gasket in aluminum? Or is there something I just don't know about?

The top and bottom did originally have a slight curve. Now it has McDonald's size archs.

p.s. The car runs a little better now.

Your turbo has a BHG!

I've recorded EGTs going into my turbo as high as 1500f. Aluminum doesn't like that. I don't run any gasket on my turbo.

LOL!

I just don't get it. This gasket came in the Turbonetics box with the Turbonetics turbine housing. It did match the flange perfect when new.
Bake at 15oo* until moist & delicious then let cure for 24hrs? I dunno.
