Alright, I'm sure alot of you are in the dilemma that I've been going through regarding our cars, and speed/performance. I've been considering the NA-T conversion route, but when it comes down to it, I don't want a turbo car that will give me problems, or I'll have to replace things left and right. I LOVE how reliable my car is now, and I think it's decently quick. I was thinking of just staying N/A, and getting some BPU mods, so it will be somewhat quicker, but at the sametime, reliable. I dunno about you guys, but reliability > power. Also on the flip side, it will be alot cheaper to get some bolt ons instead of all the turbo parts needs. What do you guys think?

Well, obviously reliablitly is a major factor in NA-T.

If you have your heart set on non-turbo,

K&N FIPK
Ported intake manifold (upper and lower)
Ported Y pipe and throttle body
AFM sogi mod
Light weight flywheel
OBX headers
Exhaust (i say 3 inch, but many disagree)

I have everything minus the flywheel and headers.

My car moves right along.....

Yeah really good, I love NA and I love when my car looks nice. So i think reliability+exterior(money left over from repairing the engine:icon_bigg ) > power
:icon_razz Keep it up!

I wanna do something along the lines of all of those mods as well, and maybe a stage 2 CM clutch just for some better feel. How hard was it to part the intake manifold, as well as the Y pipe and TB?

If you want to know honestly,

it was very very difficult. But if you want to wait a week or two, i am going to have them for sale. Fully polished exterior and ported and polished inside. Matched to gasket. Definatly a very large improvemnt over stock and a very nice bling factor!

I could possibly need a tester as well

Its not liek im getting rid of it! I did my intake manifold and y pipe, and then i bought a few extra's and will be porting and polishing them as a service to us n/a guys!

Money is not quite determind yet though! Its not going to be much though. I am almost fully completed with one entire peice, and ill psot up pictures and get a feeler for what a good price would be. Ive put in probably 10-12 hours of porting, and maybe 5-7 in polishing so far and im not quite finished.

Just to give you and idea of the amount of work goes into these. A price will be set around 150 shipped.

And i removed about three handfulls of metal shavings from the intake manifold alone!

$150 for TB, Y-pipe, and intake manifold? I'd be down.

GotToyota?... but reliability > power. Also on the flip side said:
I have been through a lot of the same thoughts of what to do and I do agree that I love the reliabilty factor in our n/a's. You can get a reliable turbo but we are talking large money to get a good setup. Also for myself I would have to have someone do the engine swap or conversion for me and I'm not confident on the shops close to me to do the work.

Matt: Weakest link in an NA/t will be the clutch and this will be the deciding factor for how much power you shoot for.
Yeah, I realized this, and I was gonna be getting a CM Stage 4. But, I'm probably just gonna shoot for 250+hp with my N/A, and get a Stage 2 clutch.
