...Ok, maybe just the year...

Not this past weekend, but the weekend before I came across a pretty good score. Local guy posted on Craigslist that he had a shortblock, 70k out of a '91 Turbo....so I e-mailed him and set up a time/day to go pick it up. Cost to me....just had to spend $40 for an engine stand. :biglaugh: I'm obviously going to go through it to check the bearings and clearances, but as long as it checks out...I'll have a nice easy replacement if mine ever craps out on me....or I could use it as a core for a Big-Daddy build....LOL!

On a side note, I also changed my shifter bushings yesterday....this is what was left of my old ring bushing....wonder why my shifter felt sloppy....? ::shrug::

HA-HA, bunch of jokers...LOL! And yes, it is a Harbor Freight Engine stand...was on sale that weekend for $40...can't beat that! I think what I'm going to do with it is go through it after I'm all moved and settled out in Colorado, and then keep it pres'd in case my motor goes south....not sure how many miles are on the shortblock in my car presently, but the odometer had 132k on it when I bought the car...but the smog cert from the previous-previous owner was showing 188k....car was originally an auto, so the cluster got swapped when the did the trans swap I'm guessing. But also, I don't know if that's the factory block in it either....so it could have almost 200k on the shortblock, or.....far less...who knows. *shrug* So if something happens to mine, I'll have this one to throw in (as long as it's good) and then I can use my block that comes out for the Big-Daddy build...heheh....*evil grin*
