'kay, so I searched and still have the issue.
After replacing the dash, front body, and engine harnesses (new), I still have no action on the cluster. I checked the fuse, swapped rheostats, etc, etc. I plugged the cluster in and turned the car on... The temp needle moved... down. Never cam back up and none of the other guages responded... tach was at zero, no oil pressure, etc.
I am going to swap the cluster with another one I have. However, I did have the issue before, when the 2J was still in there. Am I missing a ground point or something (I doubt it). But maybe you guys can shed some light on it. I have the dash still out, 'til I know everything's going to work right (all the wiring is connected tho).
