I just got the ddp installed and I love it but I have a question there's white smoke coming out of the muffler. Before I went to the shop it was ok but now there's white smoke coming out. I just put the hks 2.0 mm mhg and the stock bolts were torqued at 79 lbs.

yea, YOU CANNOT REUSE STOCK BOLTS. they will not hold the torque value. when you go to remove them, just see how easy they come out.

This is what happened.
My car was on the shop so i ordered the arp head studs but took so long and when i finally got them there were 3 missing studs so i had to wait more 3 days. The shop told me they couldn't wait any longer. I'm going to put them on. I took the car to the shop and they told me cuz I put too much oil.

The stock bolts have been proven by Reg to be fine up 72ft/lbs. And they don't stretch at those torque values so they can be reused. Repeat, the stock head bolts are NOT TTY(Torque To Yield) and can be reused. However that being said, ARP bolts would be a recommended upgrade.

sorry BUT what reg "proved" or didnt prove...thats BS IMO.... the stock bolts ARE solid and CAN be torqued to about 75ft/lbs but in ANY APPLICATION WHATSOEVER reusing head bolts is DUMB...

HEADBOLTS SHOULD ALWAYS BE REPLACED IF ANYTHING WITH NEW STOCKERS....JUST LIKE FLYWHEEL BOLTS.

I reused my headbolts when I did my rebuild, before I was a member of SF. the engine ended up breaking, but I didn't have a BHG and it went 10k miles.

Your entitled to your opinion. However Reg did a lot of testing on this subject, and has the data to back it up. What I was trying to point out though is that just because the guy reused his head bolts, his engine is not going to blow up. The Idea to not reuse head bolts comes from the fact that most domestic head bolts are TTY thus rendering them useless after one torque down. However the ones Toyota used are not. They will not stretch once they reach thier set torque value. Even the TSRM shows that they are reusable.

!!ATTENTION!!

I'm not advising every one go out and reuse there stock head bolts. Take the time and spend a little extra insurance money on a set of ARP's if your in the process of rebuilding. What I am saying though is that an engine is not going to die just because you reuse the stock head bolts. Other factors will be involved.

yeah i see your side...or reg side...whatever...but the point is...reusing headbolts...or flywheels bolts anything that has a major torque value for a major component... IS PLAYING WITH FIRE....

but to each their own...
