I just realized my interest rate jumped up from 10.9% fixed to 16.9% variable. I called them up and they told me my only option to go back to my fixed interest rate would be to turn my credit card into a loan. So basically instead of having a credit card, I now have a loan. This blows big time. I guess it isn't all that bad, considering I really need to pay off my debt anyways and this will force to do so.

Both my credit card's interest rates jumped substantially. I never carry a balance, ever.

credit card/loan go together all in the same boat, still borrowing money either way. Be early on your payments with more than the minimum either way your credit will be reflect good.

I know they do. I always pay more than the minimum and am always early. My only problem is that I have spending issues (weak will if you must). I hate to admit it, but I have 4 credit cards, all near their limit, and totalling about $15,000. As you can see, my spending has gotten out of control.

I have a friend like that. He'll rack it up to about 50k then pay it off in a year or 2, try not to do it agian and does.
He's a smart fellow he knows how to cut his losses and get out of it. Quicker then most.
Try hard to work at it. When you get to the end of the tunnel its like a ton of bricks off your back.

$50k? Jesus! I'm a smart fella too, and I can give a lot of really good financial advice. I just don't follow my own advice (I blame my weak will and that big gay blue hunk of steel in the garage since that's where most of my charges have gone to). Looking back at this year, going single turbo is something I never should have done. Especially when I add up how much I spent on it this year.:nono:

I don't own a CC, but they pulled this shit on my dad recently (who has perfect credit and is retired) from 7-8% to 17.9%

It's bullshit as usual...

I ain't selling the Supra. I would be so depressed if I did it wouldn't be funny. I'd probably drink myself into a stuper if I did. If I was lucky I might get enough to pay off my credit card debt, but I doubt it. Not worth it IMHO.
