First off no laughing Tom . Well my supra was idling and sounding funny(kinda like a subrau) since last night . So I decide to poke my head around and see whats what . My coolant looks like dirty water some what milky .:nono: So I am like man wtf !! Next I check the oil filler cap and guess what I find carmel colored goo just on the inside top of the cap . I stuck my finger waaaaay down into the valve cover didnt come back with any thing but clean oil on my finger . I am pretty sure it is the fucking head gasket. This sucks ,oh well it needed to be done anyway . My wife is going to go ape shit glad I still have the sentra. What I guess I am going to do it .Get a Mhg ,Arp studs and bolts. and probally a greddy timing belt . Just get it all done with

Tough luck Matt, but I'd try a Greddy timing belt. I haven't heard too many good things about those greedy ones.......................;)

Little bit at start up but not a whole lot and it is wispy . Coolant was low . I need to find a shop that will do this I dont have the skills to do it right. I am figuring some where around 1500.00 . If you have time you wanna come up and take a look . I think it happened when I dropped with that Nissan last night

I had my machine work done at Whitman Engines, in kirkland, with pretty fair prices, but make sure you have a good set of instructions.

I couldn't find anyone with a profileometer, but Duane and Ron said the decking looked pretty good, and I'm assuming it would've been fine with my cometic, but I still lapped it for peace of mind!

Just do it all right the first time around so you don't have to do it again :)

Thanks got some quotes today. Cometic 2mm Mhg,Arp studs and bolts ,Greddy timing belt ,and a Fluidyne for 800+ a local shop here will do it for 900. That is not including the machine work. I had a thought today, My rad has a pin hole about 4 inches from my intake I was running with out anything except the Afm ( yeah I know ). Anyway Do you think it is possiable that this is nothing more then my car sucking in steam from the hole . It explains the slow coolant loss . The lack of overheating ,and white billowing death smoke. Its odd really, but at least the end result will be a good lesson learned and more boost

umm...If you have white stuff in your oil, and your coolant looks oily/milky, then it is a BHG. And if you continue to drive you will definitely get rod knock, and probably damage several other internal engine parts as well.

How long was your radiator leaking for? If it was for long enough, then that could have been a major contributor to your head gasket failing.

One or two days tops just noticed it on sunday.I checked it saturday night and it was fine . Had the hood popped with Kylefoto,Disced, and 91t all looking at it while it was running and they didnt notice it either. So I am pretty sure it haddened sometime Saturday night . Not going to drive it at all until I get the kit that lets you test for exaust gasses in you coolant system. That will solve the BHG question once and for all. I am planning on having it done soon any way I just wanted to get the parts , then make arrangments for transportation to work while it was getting done. Guess the supra gods had a different plan......Fuckers

Ok well I had Horsepower freaks overnight me a new rad . Should get here tommorow . What I am planning on doing is, Replace rad, spark plugs, and pull of valve covers to inspect, other then the obvious is their any thing I should look for . I havent noticed any of the tell tale signs of a BHG other then the 1/8 of a teaspoon of wet oil goo . The dip stick is clean as well as the area inside the valve cover around the oil cap . Going to get the oil changed also that way I will see if there is any water in it any way just thought I would ask . let you all know tommorow

Thanks , got everyting torn apart . Nothing no oil/water mix in thermostat housing ,none in rad ,Fluid looked like shit but no oil mixed in .Letting it sit over night to see if oil seperates form the coolant. So far nothing seems amiss. There was a tiny bit of gunk in the botton of the rad but I think that is build up from over the last 14 years .Time will tell

Well I let it sit overnight . There is no seperation the fluid looks the same, so I am assuming that no oil is prestent in the coolant . Because no matter how emulsified the souloution got it would still seperate over 12 hours . Going out now to finish the rad install. Went out last night and bought better clamps to replace the shitty toyota ones . Then off to get an oil change to see if water is present in oil. Will keep you posted

I think I'm having this same problem matt,
I was down in Vancouver at mark's last night and he heat tested it and I've got 2 cold spots on the bottom, which explains why I'm not overheating around town, but if I go on a long drive and it gets working more and more, it'll be trying to hard and not have those extra two rows or however many.
Let me know how it helps.

I changed the plugs #3 & 6 had a tiny amout of deposits on them. The other ones where fine . Had gooey oil in the hose attached to the intake side under the oil fill cap and a little in the TB . I am pretty sure it is shot . I didnt run it for long because for some reason the 100a fuse blew. I am done with her for this weekend . I am going to borrow my wife's truck and just order the damn head gasket. Fuck it ...the thing that I dont understand is why toyota left such a weak link in a otherwise great motor? do the 5m's have this problem? What about the J series of motors? Maybe it is just about the money?
