Howzit Guys
I need some advice!

I Have a 7MGTE Motor which blew the head gasket

What I need to know is
i > Is the 7M and 7MGTE heads the same?
ii >How durable is the head? Does it crack often?
iii>Does the block crack?
Can someone please assist me with this!

i) Yes...the intake cam is different. You can use the NA cams, but it will shift power to the left (lower end) or just swap the turbo cams in.

ii) Usually pretty good, but a overheat can anneal the aluminum making it soft. I would not spend a cent on the head until it's hardness tested. I have seem cracks...you can have it tested for that too.

iii) Yes it does, especially the early versions you see on '87 & '88 models. I always have a block magnafluxed for cracks before machining.

i have cracks in my block, around the coolant passages and the coolant to head stud areas... i've read its ok...? and i even have a 89+ block!
