My car cuts out sometimes...its really getting on my nerves. I have something behind the timing cover making noises I'm, going to check that out tommorow but... could timing issues make me cut out in 2nd and 3rd gear at like 5500-6500 rpm?Only sometimes, not all the time. I'm still looking for vaccum leaks too. other than that my new 1J runs great but I have to fix this cutting out thing. If there is a supergenius that sees this could you just list ALL possible symptoms of why this would happen. thanks alot

check for engine codes! if its not hooked up i forgot where you could check for codes using a logic probe hold on ok.
if your light dont work buy a logic probe from radio shack then power your probe on the plug it into the back of your T connector into pin 4 at the ecu its a grey/green wire
you will hear some tones that tell you whats wrong with your car. its like the short tones is the number on first digit the long tones are the second digit i dont remember its ben a while but see if you could get some codes on why the ecu is limiting your engine..

also a bunch of guys have blown up ecus before and when they blow up it is usualy the driver circuit for the injectors it starts off like your car then get much worse after time.

which fuel pump are you running jza70 ma70 walbro ? the correct one to use is the jza70 or the walbro dont run your engine lean to long on the ma70 fuel pump.
