Ok so I made this thread for two resons. One reson is there any aftermarket companys that make an upgrated one?no.ok thats what I thought LOL and has anybody made a custom one on SM or have they seen somone who has done it if so please post pic, write up,link or whatever.

Now my second reson is I have been wanting to do this for awhile but never really thought of making a custom one just like most people waiting till a company made it(witch isnt going to happen in the case)But I was with this guy I know who has a MR2 and he made a bad ass custom one.It was love at first site.I jumped into his car with out even asking him and I like how it felt.So we were talking about it and he said that was just his proto type and when he was done with the finishd one that he would make me one.

So this great idea poped in my head. Why don't I try and get a group buy going with my supra homies:biglaugh:No I'm not going to show you guys the design just yet cause he said he's in the middle of patenting it so I need to respect him.But I'll give you a lil idea of what I'm talking about. It's not a custom ebrake like I was talking about it's a handle but why this is going to help is it sits up higher for you to grab9for when your racing and you need that quick yank)and this handle just go's on your stock handle. Also it works like a drift butten but at the end of race day when you don't want your car to roll back in your drivway you just adjust it back.

Now befor I get all of these question I'll answer a few now.I do not no how much they will be.I do not know how long it is going to take him to get his "done" and make mine and I do not know how long it will take him to make each one.But I am going to call him later and start pushing to get his done but this is only depending on how many of you guys want this and how badley you do.

Well depending if this guy comes threw with everything, enuff of you want is,and if a mod aproves this group buy than we should all be good.I just need to find out the hold payment plan thing because I don't know if he has a paypal account and I don't have one and I know this guy but I don't know him well enuff and I don't want any of you guys losing any money so I might try and get a debet card this week and make a paypal account. If I don't would any of you guys mind paying with checks?

Well thats about it and I'm not trying to make any money on this I just want to improve the one car we all love and hey I'm getting one for free so thats all I need. Also this thread is not a group buy it's just to get an idea of how many want this part.

p.s please guys let me know any of your ideas and what your looking out of this part.

Good luck is all I can tell you. Sounds like you have a lot of planning and researching to do and maybe a little background check on your.........partner. I wish you the best, but it isn't something that I would need for my car since I hardly ever use any brakes. I more of a go fast than stop kind of guy...........:biglaugh:

It will be depend on how the product actually looks like and how well it was made. Also, price range. I dont want to really be paying for something that is not really needed. I like the stock e-brake handle and right now all i need is a e-brake boot.

Sounds like Brian was talking to Steve. That thing is bad ass, but it is designed to help with drifting. No?

yea it's steves and having this will help with drifting, auto x,and any sharp tight turns.

I know most supra owners don't need/want it because not that many supra owners drift or autocross but I know theres a few out there who do and a few out there who want to get into it.so even if I just get a group buy for 10 people that would be cool and if I sell none than I'm the only one with a bad ass e-brake handle.

Its nothing like that Grim. The problem with this Brian is that you dont want to tell the design since steve is trying to patent it, but no one is going to be interested without pics or description.

So it's just an e-brake handle?

Maybe it's just me, but I don't see the point. The stock e-brake is in the perfect location and works awesome.

Is this just a looks pretty part? Is it just a cover or an add-on to the stock handle?

it's most def not a look pretty part and yes it is a add on.I'm calling him tomorrow to see when I could get pics to you guys.I know it's hard with out pics but I more just wanted to see whos intrasted. Please people bard with me I know it's hard but I'm just trying to figure everything out right now.

wissass I feel onces you see the design that your really going to like it.You may not want it becaue you "like were the handle is"but you will under stand more when I get pics up.

I will keep everybody updated

Could you at least draw a picture if you can't post any real pics of what this guy made?

I don't want to pass judgement on something without knowing more about it. But without knowing more about it, I don't really see why anything added the e-brake handle would be needed. In it's current location, it's perfect, easy to grab and out of the way of where your hands need to be for other driving manuevers. But I also haven't driven with the center console ever really, so I don't know how much more that would make it suck.

And D2 does sell e-brake handles, but they're hydraulic e-brake handles which would be stupid to run on the supra. The drum e-brake is more than enough for anything that you would need it for. And more consistent and less prone to cause other weird issues. Unless you're running 2 rear calipers per corner, I don't really like hydraulic e-brakes for supras.

its not an E-Brake handle itsself. Its a custom PC that fits ONTO the stock handle. It can be adjusted to hold the emergency lock button in when drifting. It itself is an additional handle on top of the stocker. Brian Correct me if im wrong on this but thats what it sounds like from what you described to me.

This is just a bit confusing to me and a few other members I think. So if indeed it locks the button, that's it? It's a longer handle and locks the button? I also don't understand the point, as holding the button isn't too hard. If it gives you more height, why not loosen your stock handle and let it go higher then? Btw, knowing you don't even have a debit card isn't very reassuring when you ask for money. This whole thing could be an awesome idea, but from the resistance to show anything or describe exactly what the heck this gadget does, it all seems way sketchy.
Pardon my ignorance and good luck on your project.

the reason for a longer handle/ locking button is so when drifting, you dont have to worry about the brakes locking and give more leverage on the ebrake handle. its seen more in cars used to drift, and usually the only place it is seen.

umm

good luck in patenting that system. I have two words for you.

PRIOR ART.

WRC cars have been running a system that is exactly the same for 20+ years. Used for the exact same reason of kicking the rear out. BUt no locking mechanism as that is not a very bright or safe thing to do (you and your partner have been warned as that is a lawsuit waiting to happen).

Longer handle or better leverage arm and nw a days, they do not even have that as it is all EMS controlled!
