I've always heard of upgrade turbo's being 54, 57, 60 trim etc. I was just wondering for informational purposes (I am trying to know EVERYTHING about supras, i just love em!) what trim our stock turbos are. Also what exactly does trim refer to?

One more thing. I am putting on a borg warner 57 trim turbo. It says it will flow 500 to 550 horsepower. But people on here seem to be saying that upgraded ct's to 57 trim are good to ony 450? Any thoughts.

I appreciate all your guys help.

"Trim" is just a number and on it's own isn't actually a size.

It's used to express the relationship between the smaller diameter part of a turbo wheel and the larger part.

You could have 2x 57 trim wheels one being 2" diameter and the other being 3" and while both are 57 trim the 3" would flow more then the 2".
