It stops making usable power long before you reach the "blow it up" boost level. I have run as high as 25psi on a 50 trim ct26 and it was still going strong after several years. I think 21-22 psi was the point at which it stopped increasing horsepower. You really have to think of the turbo as part of the engine as a whole rather then what it does on it's own. Just because it can keep building boost does not mean you will keep making more power. My new 62-1 feels like it makes more power at 14psi then the ct26 did at 21psi, and you don't need race gas for 14psi.

I was told from PT a stock CT-26 will make more psi, but it will not push any more air than when it is at 13psi. So at 15psi, it is the same amount of air flowing but now it is creating counter productive heat.
(heat = less air = less power)

He also said that with the small compressor wheel the turbo starts to over spin at 11psi..

This is all hearsay but I happen to believe it having killed 2 Ct's at 13--15psi.

Anyone have a CT compressor map that knows how to read one?... lol

i know im just asking questions so i dont blow shit up im not trying to to push as much boost as i cant just trying to get information. so i have a stock ct26 so i hear that 14-16 is the best for the ct26.

It will handle 14psi no problem.

any higher or no

You will hit fuel cut long before you reach the turbo's limits. Do you already have all the other upgrades needed to support 16 psi? No matter how much boost you run it is not going to put you in your seat like a upgraded ct26 or aftermarket turbo will.

I beleive this is probably pretty close.. I would say more like 13-15 psi.. any more you get a little more power, but will kill the turbo faster..

I am assuming that a compressor map is some sort of graphical data. If anyone has one I can have my dad take a look at it. He is a mechanical engineer that specializes in fluid power and pnematics, he may be able to add some input
