Anyone used one? Im looking to get my ct upgrade done in the near future and I hear these are supposed to do a better job of holding the shaft steady than the stocker (and hopefully extending the life of the upgraded ct). I talked to PT today and they said the never used one and the stocker is good enough, and I also taked to other companies and they said its worth while. Any thoughts??? I havent seen this topic disscussed yet and I have searched, but if it has been disscussed please point me in the right direction. Thanks.

Unless you have a massive problem with compressor surge, or are running above 20psi, you don't need one.

Also, I have yet to find a company that offer the 360 deg thrust system for the ct20/26.

They do:

I called them up a few days ago and they said its a go.

PT also said that a company in england or someplace makes them but they had no experience with them.

at that point a true T4 setup would flow more and be more reliable...

I know, thats not what im going for with this setup. I have T3/T4 61 trim turbo, but thats another project. I also have acess to a MP super 70. I know those two will make power, and I know to expect 550+whp w/ the 61 and i know to expect 650whp+ with the MP. I plan on having four different setups in the end. I have two MK3's now and working on getting a third.

This is more for trail and error right now, not for the obvious. I just acuired two blocks and 5 heads and an auto tranny so I have a few to spare parts for R&D for the purpose of the community.

Like I stated earlier im looking to push the limit while I can.

its not a matter of weight but imbalance and lack of flow. you have a huge wheel on the front and then a small wheel on the back choking things off its not that its just a bad idea but also inefficient.

the imbalance issue may be corrected by the thrust bearing since to my understanding is its job. The 360 is supposed to hold the shaft centered better than the 270 wants to be from what I understand. For flow, im still working on what im going to do with that. But inefficency is already know and concidered, since the 60-1 is already out of the ct's efficency. I know I wont be making as much power as I would be with a full T3/T4 setup.

whats the weight of a stock ct impeller, the 57, 60, and 62?

If you really want them, I can get them.

Its not the weight Im concerned with though. Im concerned with the fact that a 60-1 compressor wheel is "over the limit" on what the stock ct26 compressor housing can flow.

Your compressor wheel is going to flow even more than the 60-1.
