I have yet to see a 1Jz with working Cruise control. Is it that hard to setup and get it to work correctly?

Is there anything special you have to have to get it to work. I have an 89 and a 92 and neither one of them had the cruise hooked up. BOth have air though.

Do you have to have the 1Jz tach or speedo or something in order to use the cruise? Just curious as my cars have such clean and awesome detail to the swaps, hard to believe they would have left the cruise out.

How to: 1jz cruise control

Go to a bike shop and get a shifter cable that has the same (or very similar) end at the throttle cable. Open up your factory cruise control, and melt off the lead from the factory wire…. You will be left with a hole. Thread the new cable thru the factory sheath. Put it in the hole, and bend it back up so it won’t come out when the throttle is opened. The length of the new cable needs to very close to the length of the new cable. Put the new cable in the spare hole in the 1jz throttle body, and wala… it works.

My cruise control did get VERY confused when it was going up a hill and all of a sudden hit boost.
