Cruise Control suddently cuts off While Driving?

I was driving home from class and i set my cruise @ around75. Everything was fine for about 20 minutes when it just suddenly cut off.Its scared me actually cause i thought something was wrong with the motor. I look @ the cruise light and it starts flashing on and off like 3 or so time and just completely went off.
I went to reset it and it took about 3 pushes of the button for the cruise light to come back on and it took about another 3 trys to get the speed to set.

My question is this normal. Has this happened to anybody else just suddently. This about the second time its happened. I dont use my cruise much but it does come in handy. Any insight is welcome.

Not too much info available, when it comes to the cruise....

I had the opposite issue in my 87T.... The cruise is not supposed to work after you reach some speed (~100MPH?)... I dunno. Anyways, I was stupid and tried it above 135 and it worked... I've heard everything from a speed sensor in the speedometer, to the ECU could be a factor... good luck.

Testing the clutch / brake switches is usually pretty easy to do.

Just wait until the thing acts up again, hopefully it won't set - then hold the pedal up with your toe as you are driving, and if it will set, that's the offending switch.

They are simple to adjust. :)

Ok yea im definetly putting my money on the clutch switch now. Now say im on cruise and i hit a hard bump or something, could this cause enough vibration in the peddle to dis-engage it.

Another thing to check is the E Brake as the CC uses it's switch to cancel as well!

Well my e-break broke a few months back so i duno if this would have negative affect or not. Its defenitly on my to do list to fix. I wanna have her in tiptop shape
