NOYFB!
My son and I went out to Pacific Raceways to watch the 'Time attack' cars, and look at how the AWD guys part with their hard earned money. Wasn't a whole lot going on, other than about 500+ nice Subaru's. There was however, a bad, bad crash, of a 400+ hp WRX in turn two of the road course. He was travelling somewhere about 90-100mph, and left the track in the air. The car endoed, and rolled about ten times. No roll cage. Nothing, and I mean nothing, left of the car. Very tense moments, awaiting word of the drivers condition. While we were waiting, we found out, that the driver, Alec, is the guy my son bought his coil-overs off of! We both had met him, super nice guy. The car, didn't belong to him, but a very good friend. Alec was Care-flighted to Harborview, with only , what turns out to be a broken finger! He was losing conciousness, hence the precautionary air evac. The thing that impresses me the most, (before the safety engineering that Subaru has built into their cars), is the attititude of the cars owner. His only concern, was for his friends safety. The fact that his $60,000+ dollar street legal race car was a total loss, was of no concern to him. Very commendable. I have lived 46 years on this earth, and it's days like today, that not only show you how fragile human life can be, but the goodness and humanity our peolpes can display in trying times.
So in closing, this goes out to Alec, very happy you are okay man! And to Kendrick (car owner) thank you for renewing my focus on what's really important in life!

Good to hear the hot shoe is going to be aok.

I don't like to see street cars on track going that fast without race car engineering inside :)

No worries about going to the dark side, the WRX is an interesting little car.

The first thing that popped into my head when you said the car was his friends, is that his reaction would really decide how good of a friend that man was!

Great story Tom! Sounds like lots of fun :)

And of course I'm glad this guy made it out with such a minor injury!
