I suppose you could call it an automotive "GastroIntestinal" tract...

Trip to the shop...

p701778_1.jpg

OLD can...

p701778_2.jpg

Takin' it off... at the flange of the HKS downpipe/faux-catalytic segment... which has been on the car for about 15 years!

p701778_3.jpg

Here's a shot of the "current" hybrid between the HKS DP and "FAKE" (straight thru) cat/resonator where I had to have a piece of 3" straight-pipe welded on due to some damage on the original HKS "Sport Turbo" system. (75mm)

p701778_4.jpg

So I laid them side by side for comparo...

p701778_5.jpg

p701778_6.jpg

^^^ Why, YES officer... that IS a catalytic converter under there...

p701778_7.jpg

p701778_8.jpg

^^^ ALMOST lost my Motorola "Q" in the arse end... so I had to quit "farting" around.

p701778_9.jpg

Ahhhhhh..... much better! (I know, I know... I have a pig seal that needs replaced! ALREADY ordered a pair for BOTH axle shafts.)

p701778_10.jpg

...so... there it is, then.

p701778_11.jpg

^^^ There it is from a low angle at dusk... with the new "tract" hangin.

^ That's just to show another ride with a nice ass... te he!:naughty:

Ah yes,but how does it sound?

UNBELIEVABLY GOOD!

VEEEERY quiet... but extremely DEEEEEP, muffled rumble.

Even at WOT, at rest, and upon on/off throttle... all the "pop", "burble", "crackle", "grumbling" is REMOVED from the cacophony of a blown car on heavy decel. I'm VERY pleased, to say the least!

My full-system HKS 75mm that was on it originally was also a very nice system... it just wore out and didn't FLOW as much as this one, and THIS one is OHHHHhhhhhh soooooooo authoritative in it's tonal manners...

<3 the Dragger.

Nash and MrBaboon make fun of me for not having an obnoxiously loud exhaust ... I love that it's quiet and still flows!

Audio proof or it never happened. ;)

Seriously man, your car is hot and with those rims look so good. How wide did you say they were?

Thank you! (You are RIGHT! I need audio! ....but you know... it's SOOOO quiet, you won't hear anything.:biglaugh: )

The stock '04 Solara rims are 7" wide. I am wearing modest 235/50/17's right now... but these are meant for the 'lara, which has 8" OZ's on it. I MIGHT try the OZ's on the supra, but I like the "stockish" look SO WELL and get SO MANY comments, PLUS they are pretty nice rims... and the Potenza RE960AS Pole Positions work pretty well for the power I'm laying down... I may just keep them on the supra.)

My INTENT had been to get at LEAST 255's on the rear... but 7" rims don't pinch that width safely in the profile I'd need...:icon_conf
