Hi all.

A while ago I bought the hi-Amp Viper alternator from DM.
Im using a drop down bracket and now the vent hose sort of doesnt fit at all.

And on top of that Im going to do route IC piping over the alt so I dont have a lot of room there either.

So, heres my idea: On the valvecover a 90 silicone bend poining towards the firewall. Another 90 going down between runners. 90 pointing forward. And finaly another 90 conecting to the block.

Do you guys think this could cause any problems?
From my understanding its a venthose only. And the only time oil goes thru is when doing an oil change, right?

For what its worth, I came up with a elegant solution for that vent line, and its adjustable to fit many diff. configurations.
I used 3/4" oil resistant hose to connect to the block and valve cover vent fitting, then added a 90degree 1" PEX pipe fitting to do the turn.

It can pivot and the hose will flex a bit to give clearance- I'll find a pic if I have one :)

Edit: here ya go!

Thanx guys.

Toyotanos: clever routing but I cant do that because of the alternator.

Sidewinder: didnt know that it would have to be special silicone, maybe I can find 90 bends in plain oil resistant hose, didnt think of that =)

Vacuum tree would be my guess...

Winner here!

Fredde- I like that routing because you can turn the 90deg fitting to avoid the alternator- I've tried it with dropdown brackets and it works out decently. :)

=) 22mm oil resistant hose bends was harder to find than I thought.
But I came up with an idea. I think there is 22mm copper bends used for plumbing that can easily be soldered together to form the little snakepipe that I need. And then Id just need two pieces of straight oil hose. Will be done by next weekend. And with pics too =)
