I'm having some really strange behavior and I can't figure out what the hell is going on; the symptoms make absolutely no sense.

As of friday, the car was running fine although it was running pretty pig rich with the 550's and some basic fuel settings on the SAFC2.

Yesterday, I did some dyno time on the HPF dyno, tweaked the AFC some and gained about 17HP. Everything seemed great then too. No problems getting on the freeway home and no problem cruising either. The problem started part of the way home when I wanted to pick up some speed the car would heistate then surge back and forth. If I applied a tiny amount of throttle the effect was minor and it got worse and worse the more throttle I applied until it was bone jarring.

HOWEVER there are some gotchas that make this all the more confusing: Full throttle is completely fine. Yep. as long as I've got the pedal all the way down it takes off like a raped ape. Just cruising is also okay too. Light accelleration is stumbles and surges up to 4000RPM. Above that; no problem.

I thought it was maybe related to the AFC work yesterday although it ran fine most of the way home so I set it all back how it was on friday and the problen remains. I also set it back to +/- 0% and still have the surging. I'm pretty much at a loss here.

The one thing I did notice is that on the useless narrowband A/F that came in the car when it's surging the A/F is bouncing off the scale lean in time with the surging. (about 3-4 times a second) Even adding fuel under 4000 RPM doesn't keep it from doing this.

Is this something the ECU tried to learn on the freeway home or what? I am starting to rip my hair out already. Just can't think of anything that would just change between leaving portland and home by cruising at a pretty much steady speed all the way back home.

1JZ, SAFC2, Blitz Access ECU, 2JZ 550's, Aeromotive FPR, and Walbro.
