so my crank pulley is abit broken and has maybe like an inch or two missing of the the front lip of it.
so my concern is, since the crank pulley are harmonicly balanced wouldnt missing some weight/peices unbalance it and eventually mess with the crankshaft?

thanks for the help in advance guys.

Naw. Get another one, it's not like these things are rare, nor is it likely that a used one would be damaged in a non-obvious way.

Probably a good idea though to get one that matches the crank you have. I don't know if they're different for a 6M crank vs. 7M crank. ('86.5-'89 vs '90-'92)

I can speak from experience that 7Ms equipped with a 6M crank have a different pulley than those with a 7M crank. I can get pictures if you really want them.

The 6M pulley has a kinda hollowed out center, whereas the 7M pulley is flat.

You need it.
I would say you could get away with driving with your busted one at low rpm for the couple of days it takes you to get a replacement, but that's it.
That's assuming, of course that the busted section doesn't rip up your accessory belt in the meantime.
Hell- Mr. Bojangles is offering you one for just shipping? Take it.

what do you guys think about unorthodox light weight crank pulley?
my friend has one and i could probably get it dirt cheap.

You're thinking of the 6M engine, not 6M crank in the 7M engine. All 7M's have the same crank pulley.

As it's a dampener, the lightweight pulley is a bad move as it doesn't function as a dampener. If you like your bearings, you'll stay away ;)
