listne, this happeend on my brothers car so i do not know exactrly what happened. but he was driving, and they heard the car slightly tapping. not metal but liek some small thing. Anyway so shit continues, and they hit 1 speed bump and the whoel crank pully bolt broke off. now the crank pulley is broken. I have not seen the car so far. but what are your takes on this situation? no belt snapped, just tghe pully broke off. So is this a rebuild? Or is this just some PITA?

Machineshops have a tool that will cut a new groove for a keyway into the crank. They might even be able to do this still in the car.

You would have to get a matching cut in the crank pulley, too. That's if the remains of the key didn't hone out the inside of the crank pulley by a huge amount, which is very likely.

I went the JB weld route myself for a while, lasted a couple months, then it ate the pulley instead of the key. :(
