Some things I gotta just learn the hard way I guess. I didn't break this bolt loose before pulling the Head/Tranny/Engine out. How can I break the bolt free? I've tried a strap wrench around the pulley and only succeeded in popping myself in the hairy gumdrops. :aigo: I don't have an impact gun. HELP!!!! (myshortandcurliesdon'tneedtheabuse)

haha, that sucks dude. is the starter still on it? you could have two people hold the motor, and you connect a negative wire to the block, and hit the positive part of the starter (all this with the 19mm socked wrench on the crank pulley bolt) and when you hit the starter, the motor will turn over and break it free. (dont do this if you've already drained the oil.)

or have someone hold the flywheel with another socked wrench, or jam a screwdriver in the teeth from the flywheel and hold on for dear life.

Oooof! I guess I got meself into quite a per-dicky-ment. Engine's been mounted to a stand for a week and a half, oil-less, flywheel-less. Crap, well......nothing a proper application of high explosive won't cure. I try option two after work.

do you have a good air compressor? if i remember, you're in new paltz, right? if so, over the next few days, i could bring my air gun down and we could pop that sucker off if you want. (thats if you have an air compressor that'll go up to about 150psi) PM me if ya wanna set something up.

Don't be a pansie..... slap a couple of flywheel bolts in the crack, get a big ass screwdriver, put the screwdriver between them, let the screwdriver hit on the stand somewhere and break it loose..... make sure U thread the bolts in far enough though... I've only had one ever break off on me doing this, and thats because I had someone hold the breaker bar rather than let it hit the stand, or thats atleast what I think was the reason. I'm sure someone thinks this is the worste idea ever.... also, spray it with some PB blaster or something and put the socket on it and give it a few good smacks... it can't hurt any...

I brought forth the skills from a former occupation and stole some wood from my neighbor. the 2x4's in the crank worked like a stripper on stilts. Thanks all. Now can I get it all back together with out too many extra parts.
