Craigslist 1/2JZ Scammer? Funny Story Though...

There is an ad for a 1997 2JZ in on CL that I checked out. The pics in the ad were of a 1jz, so i sent this simple email to see which he was selling:

The pics in your ad show a 1st generation 1jz motor, NOT a 1997 2jz. Which motor are you selling?

Couple days go by and I find this in my email box:

Although i'm very intrested in the hobby of drueling over Supra motors, I havn't yet had time to devote all my life to watching the fast and the furious and memorizing engines i'll never buy, or can't buy! The engine in the picture is one that I went to pretend to buy, took pictures of, asked questions, then snuck off and now i'm posting them instead of the real pics of the motor to try and confuse you. You know you drive an 89' civic anyway and no the engine won't fit!

I got a good laugh but I couldn't tell if the guy was being serious and was pissed that I would mention his obvious inconsistency or he was just embarrassed at his mistake or maybe just another CL scammer.

I replied:

thats funny, man. actually i have a 1jz quite similar to the one you have pictured in your ad for a '97 2jz. so ill ask again, which engine are you selling and why are the pics not correct?

any thoughts? feel free to share :biglaugh:

Obviously this guy is full of @#%$^.... if he can't have a decent conversation with you about whatever he's selling and why this, that and the other thing don't make sense, he really isn't worth it.

I'd never warranty a motor for sixty days. If I knew it was good, I"d warranty it to crank and have good compression. It doesn't take but one or two days for some idiots to ruin a good motor.
