hello everyone, i have this issue with my cooling system. everytime i drive my car more than 30 minutes, the overflow coolant resvoir fills up, close to overflowing and my radiator sems to be without coolant. could my system be air bound? thermosts sticky closed? there seems to be no leaks when i secure the engine. also, my temp gauge freaks out, it will be at the normal area and then it will jump to high and then slowly creep back down to the normal range and then all over again. please, if anyone ran into this issue before, please i need your help.......also, my auto tranny od light on my gauge sometimes blinks and my tranny gets stuck in gear or just sluggish during shifting. is my tranny going bad? thank you fellow supra owners....

Mine is doing the same thing, the overflow tank keeps filling up, and now the valve gaskets are leaking. I don't think it's a BHG, because the oil is staying golden. Also, does anyone have a link of how to check or replace the speedo cable? Also, I don't think I have BHG b/c is blew around 30K miles w/ the water pump and was completely rebuilt by Toyota. I just replaced the radiator cap, should it pull from the overflow tank automatically or should i figure out a way to get it back into the radiator. I just got my thermostat replaced a year ago and I can see the coolant circulating when its above idle. I've never had a problem with the car on the freeway, it just sits right below the middle.

Start cheap like mentioned, rad cap, Tstat, new hoses(might as well do a new upper when doing the Tstat), bleed the cooling system.

Mine did all the same things and it was BHG in the end. My oil looked fine, even the day I did the HG job the oil was perfect. My coolant however had alot of oil. I couldnt tell it had oil until I drained it out. Drain the coolant and let it sit in a bucket over night. If you get sludge on the bottom then it should be obvious to see.

BHG, will i have some evidence of leak around the external of the motor? or will it also be internal with no external evidence? thank you guys, once again, i will start cheap and just pray that it is the radcap, tstat......thank you fellow supra owners.

The only leaking I had was from the catch can in my garage. The leaky HG would let exhaust gas pressure build in the catch can. I forgot another clue towards my BHG, if you are leaking coolant from the catch can. I saw a few small drops and if you look close it will leave an oily stain on concrete.

Also get a flash light and try looking down into the catch can or better yet take it off. If you see a ton of sludge down there thats a bad sign.
