coolant temp sensor

i have an 89 turbo, was wondering which order do the two wires go in on the coolant temp sensor, green in front brown in back or the other way around. my plug broke and i am just trying to re-wire with spade terminals...

on your picture its the green plug but my plug broke off and the two wires inside came off the terminals. i don't know which one goes in front. so i guess sort of but not really...

gottcha, i'll see if I can go have a close look in a minute and edit this post.

EDIT: 100% green at the back and brown at the front (of car).

would someone like to name what each one of them sensors control, which ones for the dash temp guage and the ac and what not, cause my stock temp guage stopped working recently, and i never figured out which of them 4 would control that

blue at top/front is for thermos,green is cold start inj,top has 2 wires i believe.i think they are for ecu??? and the last one is for temp gauge

there are two "1" wire units. The top one, is the water temp sender for the gauge. The lower "1" wire connecter is the A/C switch which switches to ground at 160 deg to turn on the auxilary fans when the a/c is on. This connector can be used as the ground for aftermarket fans, eliminating the need for expensive thermostatic control relays. Just give the fan fused power, and ground it to the a/c switch. When the coolent reaches 160, the fan will kick on.

That would make the fan(s) stay on all the time, cause your are gonna run hotter than 160*.
