Anyone know where I can get a coolant temp sensor connector so my gauge in the car works? I believe that is the problem. It is the plug that goes into the head that is only one wire? It seems like the connection is bad or even broken. I got a 1998 240sx 1JZ from a Chaser. Thanks guys!!

If you can wait for shipping, the Toyota sponsors in the vendor section will help you out. Make sure you get the plastic piece, as well as the pigtail(s).

Theres two types that I've seen. There's the sensor with the flat prong sticking out and the one that has a plastic female connector with a tiny pin in it. The Flat prong (no plastic connector) is similar to the MKIII sensor. The Connector type is on a mkiv as well. Not sure if they're 100% compatible though.

The coolant temp sensor on my 2J, is a green plastice withe 2 wires... one of the wires when to the E1 or E2 ground in the harness, the other went to the ECU. I'd have to check to see which pin that other one went to in the ECU.

Hes talking about the Gauge sensor, the 1 wire sensor.
