The other night I took the Supra for a short drive, giving her boost, and when I shut her off I noticed white smoke coming from the engine bay. When I looked at the engine the smoke quickly went away. Well this morning I drove her to work, and really got into the boost. When I parked at work it started smoking badly, and when I looked under the car coolant was pouring out from around where my downpipe connects to my test. At lunch I filled up the radiator (half gallon) and limped her home, staying out of boost. I got her in the garage, popped the hood and there was a small amount of smoke. There was a little coolant in the spark plug galley, and it appeared that where ever the leak was coming from, it was leaking onto my downpipe and that was causing the smoking. I checked underneath and there wasn't any pouring. I immediately thought BHG, but could this possibly be a cracked coolant hose? A mechanic friend advised me to fill the radiator, leave the cap off, start the car and rev to 3000 and hold it. If coolant shoots out of the radiator, then it's a BHG. What is the logic behind that?
Thanks.
