The overflow is filling up with coolant and is coming out almost everytime i run the car. it only takes til the car heats up to normal til this happens. once im driving and i can smell it burning the car starts to heat up for some reason. its a swapped motor with about 30k miles on it (7mgte) no other problems and have no idea why this is happening any help will be appreciated... the car doesn't run hot until this happens

Bad water pump?
Bad thermostat?
Clogged radiator?
Air in the system?
And the all time favorite...BHG?

This is where I would start...check all this stuff and post your findings!

veryyyyy simple way to rule out a BHG.

get a radiator pressure tester and test the cooling system. check to see if it holds the pressure with the car off and cold. check to see if it holds the pressure iwth the car running, and let it warm up and see if it still holds the pressure.

if it DOSNT hold pressure, and there is no coolant leaking out anywhere, you have a BHG.

Make sure your overflow bottle is filled to the proper level when engine is cold. Mine did the same thing because I didnt have the overflow filled up and air was causing the problem. If that works don't forget to burp the system.

How do you burp the system?

Pat the car on the roof (or targa top, as the case may be) !!!!

But seriously now.....I believe there is a thread all about it in the faq section, or on SM forum 'how to'...and definatley on the SOGI technical page.
