hey, so while doing a engine swap on my supra, the mechanic broke the heater core on the firewall on the passenger side. theres two hoses that go there, one is from the back of the head to the heater core, and then to inside to the climate control vents (or whatever)

so right now i bypassed it so its hooked from the back of the head to the hose that goes inside the firewall. i dont want any heat, since the car generates heat already inside the car, can i just block off the hose going inside the firewall? would it work the same other than no heat?

btw i have no AC so its blowing hot air most of the times.

any input or suggestions?
thanks

Yes you can bypass the heater core altogether.

I would look for a new mechanic.

Also keep in mind that the heater can also act like a smaller radiator.

yea i heard about the small radiator thingy, but iv noticed after i bypassed it, the car warms up faster (well on the temperature gauge)
but during summer it was always blowing hot air, so i wanted to block off the hose. so maybe i get some cool air inside the car instead

The cars coolant temp will warm up faster since there is less coolant to heat up.

IDK about you but in summer i dont get cold air coming through unless the a/c is on.

hmm, well it mostly the blower motor that blowing at you when its cold, but since i bypassed the hose its hotter than before.
but thanks for the reply.
