No, the bypass is needed! The N/A uses a bypass while the Turbo model uses the turbo as the bypass. The coolant has to flow through that in some way.

This is why you loop the lines instead of plugging, or you can use the N/A waterneck as I mentioned.

I plugged those two ports when I swapped my aftermarket oil / coolant cooled Turbonetics turbo to a PT61.
I bought the appropriate 1/4 BSP plug from McMaster
I also went to Autozone to purchase a 14mm X 1.5mm replacement oil plug for ~$2.90. The plug thread length was about 12 - 15mm in length and the package included a nylon washer. I instead used a 14mm copper crush washer. This is the cleanest and simplest solution I mention to everyone installing a non water cooled turbo.
BSP plug goes to the top of the waterjacket. 14mm plug goes to the old turbo water return port.
