definately. the supra's rear is one of the reasons why i chose it as my favorite car that i can afford:biglaugh:

i like the pre-89, too.

most new cars these days have pretty ugly tail lights, i think.

all in all, the sup's rear is the best on the ROAD!

As long as its done right (read: looks professional and perfect) I think it would look good.
As for the concept itself, I could go either way, I kinda like the full-wide taillight cluster but thats just my opinion.

Do whatever floats your boat, it could definitly look good if done right! I've never seen it done before so I'm having a hard time picturing it other than the photoshop you posted. (Zooloo isn't listed in SF's directory)

So yeah, give it a shot!

looks AWESOME in HIS color..i think it would look good on darker colors...but not on lighter colors such as white.

Yes it looks really good on Zooloos Supra and a big reason for that is that he also "lifted" the licenceplate up, so it doesn´t sit as deep.

Question, Is there any work involved once you remove the centerpeice? Or does it just unbolt, then will a good rubbing, polishing compound and wax job clean it up? I think that loook good too.

Well, i am planning on using the pre-89 center piece... I have heard you have to use a dremel to cut into the center section, because the 89+ lights are a few cm's wider... I guess I'll just have to figure it out!

I really would like to do this to my car, since I have to replace my tails anyway (fire melted them)...but I don't really have the money for them, so I am going to stick w/ a pair of pre-89's for now...

I think Zooloo's and Chopstickz look so good because they went with the whole 89+ lights but painted the middle, with the pre 89 center piece it wouldnt look so good. But I'm also a big fan of the 89+ tails and not the pre89's, that center piece never appealed to me.

you're right, the uniform height really makes a difference and gives it a newer rounded look. I think the pre 89 lights like mine look a bit dated...

for a while i wanted the pre 89 lights with the 89+ centerpiece but i dont think it can be done. can it? even thoug pondering it doesn't help, because i know i wouldnt spend money on new lights even if i wanted to. :nono:

when i get more money...then i'll ponder it more, but this thread makes me want to think about it a bit sooner :D

Nope, it wouldn't be possible, because the end taillight 89+ pieces are a bit wider than the pre-89's...if you put the 89+ center piece in between two pre-89 lights, there would be a pretty big gap on either side...sorry.

Here's a visual aid: ;)
