Hey guys and girls,
As some of you know, I'm planning to put a 1jz into my Supra. I've made a new year's resolution to do so, and I hope to start in February. However, I wanted to upgrade the drivetrain in preparation for the new power, and I am looking for suggestions on differentials and the like. I would love to find a good deal, as upgrading the drivetrain can be very expensive. I'd prefer something relatively easy to do, as inexpensive as possible, yet strong as a mother fucker. I will keep you all updated as the swap progresses.

Fixed.

To the OP, that 280 stock hp is not gonna be breaking diffs any faster than your 7m. Upgrading the drivetrain is a great idea for a 16 year old car, but the jump from 232 to 280 is not going to obliterate your rear end. If you're planning a T78 swap with cams and a standalone... well then, you wouldn't have made this post, and you'd probably be able to write something that sounds like it wasn't written by a 4th grader.

I would use the following: stock twins, use a 4.30 LSD, Small single(under 63mm), use a 3.91 LSD, and for a large single(over 63mm) use a 3.73 LSD. I would use a clutch kit that is able to hold a little more than what you want. The stock r154 should be able to handle almost anything that you throw at it.
