comrpession/leakdown madness

MmmBoost

DDS Performance
well, i decided to do the 2 dreaded tests today cause i was bored... i wanted a good laugh too...

compression
1 150
2 160
3 145
4 160
5 210
6 200

5 and 6 read like that cause they were full of water. also, just cranking the motor when it was cold for the compression test was enough to pressurize my radiator. wierd.

cheap leakdown tester: 1 spark plug non-fouler, 1 1/4" brass nipple 6" long, 1 female 1/4" air hose adaptor. screw it all together, and plug it in to air compressor regulated at 100psi, car in gear, and watch/listen. i set the #1 at tdc on comp. stroke, and after that, followed the firing order thru using a long socket extension in the cylinder to verify tdc on the rest of the holes. then remove the radiator cap, oil cap, and listen there and the intake and exhaust for leakage.

1 no leakage
2 small gurgling from radiator
3 big gurgling from radiator, oil was pretty loud hissing, and vapor was coming out of #4 cylinder
4 lots of water gurgling, vapor coming out of #5 and #3
5 completely emptied comtents of radiator onto my hood and myself. fuckin wet and cold now...
6 same as ^^^

any chance i might have a blown head gasket, cracked head or block? maybe???

jk.... this sucks. good im gonna rebuild the whole thing in a week

Wow... that was an explosion of coolant of the radiator!

Nothing wrong with the ebay kit... all the other gaskets are usable... just buy the OEM one and you should be set!
