computer help

[malloynx]

i just moved from delaware to north carolina and not my desktop dosen't work. she worked fine the day of the move and now it won't turn on. i had professional movers box everything and move all my stuff.

what can prevent a computer from not even turning on. i really don't know what went wrong. all seems to be fine and i was there when the guy boxed it. all he did was put it into a box and pack it up..

1st check the power switch in the back it may have flipped to off

Sometimes when you move your computer around...the ram module could pop out of the slot...Happened to my computer when I was moving it.

Open your computer and check that all the ram memory modules are plugged in good.

ive had that problem with a video card, had to pull it out, reboot, shutdown, reinstall and it worked..

Several things inside the box could have come unplugged and would prevent the PC from turning on.

Power switch, first of all. Ram, video card, CPU... the Power Suppy in theory, but I've never seen one of those plugs pop out in shipping, and I've seen it all by now I figure.

Does not power on PERIOD, or fans come on, but no display?
No power, period could be no power from the wall, bad power supply, power supply rocker switch in off position, or improper voltage on back of power supply selected.
Powers on with no display could be bad monitor, wrong video output connected to monitor [on-board video instead of video card or vice-versa], bad power supply connection to motherboard, bad motherboard, bad CPU.

I recently had a system that crashed on me. It would power on for about 5 seconds and then shut off automatically. I used different memory, different power supply, different video cards and different motherboard. I was lucky enough to have 2 of everything that I needed to troubleshoot EXCEPT a spare CPU. I swapped everything and ended up ordering a CPU - which fixed the problem.

First off... welcome to NC what part are you living in?

2nd : It dont work cause us rednekcs dont know how to use dem dere compooters (as Luvmysilversupra would say)

Somthing may have come unplugged inside the computer, Or your plug sockets could suck in my living room some reason none of the top sockets on the outlets work.
